Arresting Images is organized and circulated by the OPP Museum in Orillia, as one of its 100th anniversary projects.
The museum will host the nationally travelling exhibit of this never-before-seen collection of mug shots dating from 1886 to 1908, including the earliest mug shot known in Ontario.
Who knows, maybe you will come face-to-face with that distant relative no one in the family is willing to talk about!
Teachers may wish to note that a special education program will accompany this exhibit. Please contact Amy Whitehorne at the museum for further information.
The Brockville Museum, "Where History Lives," serves as the repository of our collective past, and is the cornerstone of Brockville's heritage community.
The museum, which attracts thousands of visitors every year, not only has an interesting and varied collection of artifacts, but it also hosts special events, children's programs, adult lectures, and is the home of the Leeds and Grenville Branch of the Ontario Genealogical Society.
You are welcome to visit us Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. at 5 Henry St. in Brockville.
