Ontario SPCA seeks sponsors for annual Leeds and Grenville Telethon
Posted Feb 2, 2012 By EMC NewsEMC Events - The Leeds & Grenville Branch of the Ontario SPCA will hold its 10th annual telethon on Sunday, April 1, 2012, from 1 to 6 p.m..
The telethon will be broadcasting from the TVCogeco Studio at 333 California Avenue, unit 13-A. This year's fundraising goal is $25,000.
"Our annual telethon is our chance to let people see the work we do at the shelter," says Marianne Carlyle, Branch Manager for Leeds & Grenville. "We are delighted to partner again with TVCogeco for this signature event, now in its 10th year. The event also provides an opportunity to form new community partnerships."
TVCogeco remains the strong partner in broadcasting, and there will be lots of exciting new entertainment to be seen.
"We will also be doing an overview of what has happened at the shelter over the last years, including original clips of the facility, and the improvements over the last several years."
Each year the challenge of meeting the funding requirements for the shelter is daunting and the possibility of reducing services is a reality. The telethon is the major fundraising event of the year and without it, the Leeds & Grenville Branch of the OSPCA would be hard pressed to continue providing care for animals that have been abused, neglected or abandoned. Last year, the shelter housed more than 1,300 animals from the community.
The Leeds & Grenville branch would welcome any business or individual who would be interested in helping to sponsor this event to allow it to reach its goal, in exchange for recognition throughout the campaign. As usual there will be satellite locations around Leeds & Grenville for easy donation drop-offs.
