EMC Lifestyle - I'm the only all-white cat in the shelter and my name is Casper, after Casper the Friendly Ghost. Except I'm more like Casper the Friendly Angel.

I was found this fall homeless, scared and hungry. How I got there, on the street, nobody will ever know. I was brought into the shelter where I got food and care, but life in a cage was hard on me after having had freedom to roam outside, and I began to get depressed.

From the street to a cage - it's a hard adjustment that can crush the spirit. But after months of unconditional TLC I've begun to feel confident and discovered I love to play chase the ping pong ball down the hall. I'm quiet, make no fuss, get along with my mates, and the shelter workers tell me how beautiful my perfect white coat has become.

Casper is a neutered male about a year-and-a-half old, has had all his shots, and is micro-chipped so he'll never be lost on the street again.

To meet Casper please visit the Gananoque & District Humane Society (613-382-1512) at 85 Hwy 32 just north of the 401 and Gananoque. We're open for adoptions weekdays and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to noon. Our monthly e-newsletter is called Power to the Paw and is a short, uplifting, and inspiring read. To subscribe please email us at humanesociety@bellnet.ca.
