Celebrate Heritage Week at Fulford Place
Posted Feb 16, 2012 By EMC NewsEMC Events - Join in Heritage Week festivities at Fulford Place during Ontario Heritage Week (Feb. 20-26) and celebrate the province's rich and diverse heritage through a series of free talks and tours.
The lineup is as follows:
- Monday, Feb. 20 at 10 a.m., local author David Wells talks about his new book, Folklore and Fiction: The History of Mallorytown,
- Tuesday, Feb. 21 at 10 a.m., Fulford Place conservator, Amanda Gray, speaks about her recent conservation work at Fulford Place, focusing on the painting collection,
- Thursday, Feb. 23 at 10 a.m., the site manager from New York's Sackets Harbor Battle Field Alliance, Constance Barone, will discuss the role Sackets Harbor played as the centre of American naval and military activity for the upper St. Lawrence Valley and Lake Ontario during the War of 1812.
FREE TOURS
Throughout Heritage Week, free general public tours will be offered on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday (Feb. 20-23) at 1 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The last tour leaves at 3:10 p.m. Pre-booked group tours are available any time.
